To WiP or not to WiP, that is the question.

Thought I'd ask this. If I'm doing stuff that takes a long time to finish. Like paintings and comics and stuff. Do you want me to post work in progress pictures, or wait until its all finished? Or perhaps both and submit one image with all the stages of the piece in it once its finished? (Like I did for the red baron kinda.)

Hi mate! You've got nice confident linework in your art, that's usually half the battle. As for the other half, you can't go past drawing from reference. It ain't cheating. Michaelangelo used reference.

Find a photo of a subject you like, and draw it. Pay attention to the textures in the pic, spend a bit of time getting them right. I think you'll surprise yourself :)

Thanks. Ive been telling that to people aswell but I have a hard time following it myself. I'll definately try to do it more. Since I do a few pics a day I should try to atleast have one of them be from reference.

Oh yeah, definately. Dont think Ive spent more than an hour or three on a drawing for years. And the few times ive done its always been for some kind of portfolio. Definately something I should try to do more often.
