Why does these damn vectors of traced photos keep getting DDs. Thats like giving a DD to a photo of the monalisa.

dd's are crap, most of dA is crap.... The only thing on dA that's worth something are individual users with good galleries, and they will never be mainstream....

Encouragement... right...

I'll encourage them once they start making original work. DD's are meant to exemplify the best work in that particular category, and honor the people who do a GOOD JOB at what they do. Giving people "encouragement" for tracing is like giving your dog a biscuit whenever it pees on your couch. You are telling it that "hey, if I keep doing this, people will like me ^_________________________^". It is stagnating their progress in advancing their skill.

yeah and a day or two ago a trace of a comicbook cover got a dd. The guy even stated it was a trace in his authors comment :S (and people who admit their tracing is rare)
